Llanishen Evangelical Church

Our church

What we believe

We believe that the news about Jesus Christ is the best and most important news there is to hear. Here's that news, and what it means for us, in plain English.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s word — trustworthy, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live. Every Sunday we open it together and let it set the agenda, rather than the other way round.

God

There is one God, who made everything and holds it together: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is good, and he is not distant — he speaks, he acts, and he invites people to know him.

Jesus

Jesus is God’s Son, fully God and fully human. He lived the life we could not live, died in our place, and rose again. Everything we do as a church comes back to him.

People and sin

Every person is made in God’s image and deeply valuable. We have also all turned away from God, and we can’t fix that ourselves — which is exactly why the news about Jesus is such good news.

The church

The church isn’t a building — it’s people. We are an independent evangelical church of about 50 people, from infants to those in their 90s, meeting on the south side of the park in the middle of the Fishguard Road estate.

Our hope

Jesus will return to put the world right. Until then we worship God, care for one another, and make the news about Jesus known in Llanishen, Wales and beyond.

We hold to the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith. If you’d like the full statement, ask us and we’ll gladly send it.

No question is too awkward, and you won't be put on the spot.
